Andy first saw capoeira while watching the incredibly cheesy film Only the Strong at his Grandmother’s house with his cousins, they couldn’t wait to try it so immedietly went into the back garden and began trying to copy the ginga and a few other moves, they tried to find classes nearby but couldn’t find anything.
A few years later Andy saw that Capoeira classes had started in Leicester and went along to the first class he could get to. The classes were being run by Tim and Christos, 2 Capoeira students who were teaching (or sharing knowledge as Christos would say) under the guidance of Professor Carousel and ultimately Mestre Gato. Andy now runs the classes in Northampton alongside Glyn (Esquilo).
